The Good
.

…I mainly used the Sanyo Ecjhc55h for cooking rice and congee. I find this cooker can take a little longer (10-15 min longer) on normal mode to cook rice, compared the previous rice cooker I had (which was also in the 100 dollar range). There is a quick cook option. The quality of cooked rice is excellent. The rice cooker itself seem to be well built and solid in quality. There are many pieces of accessories that come with this rice cooker (e.g. steam basket, slow cooking pot, tofu maker), which I may find use in the future. I expect many years of good use from this excellent rice cooker….

…Perfect rice the first time out and every time after that. The two sets of cook bowls/lids is a very good idea. Unit is attractive and is a perfect size for up to 5 or 6 diners.

One feature I wish were available is delayed start of cooking in the slow cooker function. I recall (and I may be wrong) that the larger version of this device from Sanyo allowed for slow cook to start after a specified delay. This would be handy…

This review is from: Sanyo ECJHC55S 5.5-cup Micom Rice & Slow Cooker

I eat rice every day. I am very picky about the texture and quality of the rice I cook and needed a rice cooker that can really perform. The most important thing is that when the rice is done cooking there is no crispy or burnt rice on the bottom of the pot. This rice cooker has met my high standards and more. It never cooks unevenly and even on the “quick” setting it cooks the rice perfectly every time. Even after keeping my rice warm for hours the rice at the bottom never became overcooked, crispy or burnt! I love this rice pot, and suggest it to anyone who loves rice as much as I do!
